Project Title: 

Beekeeper Economic Empowerment (BEE) Project.

Overall objective:

To reduce poverty among poor communities in the Tabora region of Tanzania.

Specific objective:

To enable small-scale farmers in the Urambo and Sikonge districts of  Tabora to earn increased income from trade in honey and bees wax products.

Geographical coverage:

Sikonge and Urambo Districts of Tabora region in Tanzania.


Target group:

700 small-scale farmers from marginalised communities in Sikonge and Urambo who rely on beekeeping as a livelihood activity.

Duration of the Project:

48 months (2009 – 2012)
