By the end of the five year pilot, efficient post-harvest food storage modalities and marketing, embedded within increased capacity of farmer groups have been established, helping raise the income of smallholder farmers and provide an incentive for increased production.
Maize producer groups established and organized into functional agricultural marketing cooperative societies and Savings & Credit Cooperative Organization Societies.
Producer groups have increased capacity and competency in good maize agricultural practices and thus able to produce large volumes of high quality maize.
Farmer producer groups are able to access competitive maize markets beyond WFP and increase their income.
